Brief about Belur TMC:
- The Belur Town Municipal Council(TMC) was formed in 1996.
- Belur is a small to2wn located on the banks of River Yagachi, in Hassan District of Karnataka.
- Belur was the early capital of the Hoysala Empire with Halebidu which is only 16KM away, this is one of the major tourist destinations in karnataka, India.
- The main attraction in Belur is the Chennakesava temple complex which contains the Chennakesava Temple (dedicated to Chennakeshava,Meaning handsome vishnu)as the centre piece, surrounded by the Kappe Chennigraya temple built by Shantaladevi, queen of king Vishnuvardana.
- At a distance of about 220 kms from the metro city Bangalore, Belur is considered as the Banaras of south and is thus also known as Dakshina Varanasi.
- Belur is very popular for its marvellous temples which are among the best if one wants to study temple architecture. They are an architectural delight and one can spend days drinking in their beauty.
- Belur TMC has a population of 20,285 as per census 2001.
- TMC has 23 wards with councilors and 5 nominee councilors.

ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ : 1990 ರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ನಾಗರೀಕ ಸೇವಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲೆ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ನೊಂದಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಾ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಇದರ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೇಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
Computerisation : Properties within Belur TMC limits have been identified & details have been collected & Integration of the properties has been completed . Citizens can avail this facility to pay property tax shortly. Birth & Death records are available online from the year 1990 Citizens can make use of this facility to register & obtain Birth & Death Certificates.
ಘನತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ: ನಗರಸಭೆಯ 23ರ್ಡ್ ಗಳ ಘನ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯನ್ನುಹೊರ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿಗುಡಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಕಸ ಸಾಗಾಣಿಕೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಮನೆ ಮನೆಯ ಕಸ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿ ನಗರ ನ್ಯೆರ್ಮಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಸಹಕರಿಸುವುದು.ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ದೂರುಗಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವುದು, ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ- 230048
Solid Waste Management:
Solid Waste Management in 23ards has been outsourced. It includes street sweeping and waste transportation. Citizens has to encourage the Door to Door collection activities in the wards and pay the service charges as per the MSW-rules for door-to-door collections.
